Cat2Tag – the new champion
Some changes in the. I put in the awesome “Cat2Tag” plugin for Wordpress online and ripped out the one I had been using. Why? The old one was nice but didn’t integrate into the mainline Wordpress code as well as I liked. Cat2Tag kicks ass in a few ways…
- By repurposing the categories system that is built in for tags no changes to the way WP “thinks” of a post have been made.
- A wide range of plugins are available for handling the built in category system, all those are totally usable now.
- When I migrate away from Wordpress (and someday I will) my data structure is still nice and bog standard.
- The normal category management tools in the admin interface work “for free”
- Third party posting tools (like Blogjet) work fine.
