Setback?!?!

Ok… good progress. Accounts built Domains built Email built Databases built and restored The downside? The 14 Gig backup we have may not actually include the websites themselves. Whiel this sucks, it is not the end of the world as both S and I keep local copies of such work as a matter of routine. [...]

Databases back online…

The Mysql dump file saved us, but it points out to me again that most open source software is liek 80% done. I mean, woudl it be so hard to have a real live backup / restore utility that had an interface that helped? I had to load the text into [[wp:vi]] and split it [...]

Still going….

The saga continues…

This includes installing it – then tracking downa nd installing the license key – then tracking down and finding out about the patch that is actually needed to make the thing run… this took a fair amount of [...]

And so it begins…

At 13:00 yesterday, a server for client S packed it in. The [[wp:NOC]] started it and began a [[wp:EXT3]] [[wp:fsck]] that has been running for more than 24 hours and it looks leek the drive is totally [[e2:borked]] – needless to say this sucks. Just around 16:00 today I got the access information or the [...]
